Paths through overlooked worlds

“That is why most people do not know how beautiful the world is and how much splendor is revealed in the smallest things, in any flower, a stone, tree bark, or a birch leaf.” - Rainer Maria Rilke

Although issues of nature conservation and climate change have long been relevant and are discussed time and again, many people pay no attention to nature. As a result, the general public lacks a connection to and interest in nature, as well as the motivation to protect it.
But how did this come about? And is it possible to reverse this development and rekindle people's enthusiasm for nature? This paper examines the causes and discusses the associated consequences and problems. In addition, the concept of nature and the relationship between humans and nature are examined, and phenomena such as interest and fascination are addressed from a psychological perspective.
As part of the paper, a practical project was developed that aims to awaken fascination and appreciation for nature and give viewers a new perspective on it.
